Delegate Statement

A brief intro to yourself: I'm Tony Olendo, cofounder of ViFi Labs, a stablecoin FX protocol that democratizes FX price discovery and provides deep liquidity for retail and institutional customers across Africa and other frontier economies.

Prior to founding ViFi, I was the Lead DevRel Engineer at Polygon Labs where I helped launch the Polygon zkEVM. I have a DeFi engineering background and I continue to build at the intersection of Africa and Web3.

I have been vocal and active member of Developer DAO where I wrote the first ever DAO improvement proposal and continued to help shape the DAOs governance structures. Additionally, I built DAO tooling at Coordinape, where I worked with various DAOs in understanding the governance and treasury management needs.

A message to the community and ecosystem: I'd like to grow the Scroll ecosystem to continue to work with builders across emerging market ecosystems. For builders in Africa and beyond, the values of decentralization, permission-lessness and censorship-resistance are not merely ideals, they are life and death, given the nature of those governments. You should vote for me because I'm determined to ensure Scroll continues to uphold these values while prioritizing builders of all backgrounds through clear and representative governance.

Talent is distributed evenly but opportunity is not. I believe in providing visibility and support to builders of all backgrounds, regardless of location. Stablecoins have found PMF in emerging markets and I would like support builders who will continue to build applications that will bring value to the Scroll ecosystem will solving real-world problems.

L2's don't only represent technology but culture. Scroll is for everyone and by prioritizing community building, I believe we can establish a strong ecosystem for the "Global Majority" - those who have been historically overlooked but continue to drive transactions in emerging markets.
